In its fifth annual edition, the 2024 Puerto Vallarta Marathon presents a completely revamped circuit, starting and finishing at the picturesque Puerto Mágico, with the firm determination to become an icon in the realm of athletic competitions in Mexico.

The event features four thrilling athletic tests: the challenging 42-kilometer Marathon, the electrifying 21-kilometer Half Marathon, as well as the lively 5 and 10-kilometer recreational races, all framed by an exhibition open to the general public. For this edition, a generous prize purse of $500,000 MXN has been allocated, to be distributed among the following categories:

• Open Category: for athletes aged 18 to 39 who seek to excel in the competition.
• Master Category: reserved for runners aged 40 to 49, demonstrating their mastery on the track.
• Veteran Category: designated for participants aged 50 to 59, whose experience gives them a competitive edge.
• Veteran+ Category: for the fearless athletes aged 60 and above, whose indomitable spirit defies any age limit.

The 42-kilometer marathon holds the prestigious endorsement and certification of AIMS World Running (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races), ensuring its recognition as a qualifying event for world-renowned competitions such as the legendary Boston Marathon.
