The whales are here! Humpbacks return to Punta Mita!

Winter has arrived in Punta Mita... But don't worry! The "cold" season in the area is very far from what winter is in the north. Here, it means we will have cooler weather for morning walks, great conditions for water activities and beautiful nights for stargazing.

One of the most amazing experiences you can live when visiting Punta Mita in winter is whale watching. Year after year, hundreds of humpback whales arrive to our coast to mate and give birth. It is a wonderful sight to experience the sighting of these giant mammals. While often you can catch a glimpse of them from the shore, nothing beats seeing them up-close! Today we would like to recommend our two favorite options in Punta Mita: Rudi and Punta Mita Adventures. Rudi runs his own local boat tours business, he´s such a character, not only multi-lingual, but has an encyclopedic knowledge of the area pertaining to sea life, birds and local gossip. He also has a great sense of humor. A great source for having a good time.

Our other favorite company is Punta Mita Adventures, a team of experts and certified guides leaded by their onsite coordinator Arturo. Punta Mita Adventures, sister company of the renowned Vallarta Adventures, has small group whale watching excursions that depart directly from Punta Mita, providing an intimate and personalized tour. You can also arrange a private boat for an even more personalized excursion. All of their tours include water, snacks and hydrophone, which will allow you to listen to the underwater sounds and songs of these whales. Whales visit the bay from December to March, which makes this holiday season the perfect timing for you to enjoy of this activity with friends a family.

Trust us: it is an experience that will leave you with memories. Don't forget your camera, because you'll get a-m-a-z-i-n-g shots! For more information about this tour options visit Tours by Rudy and Punta Mita Adventures on our Business Directory Section.
