From May 16 to 18, 2025, Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, turned into a vibrant stage of energy, color, and adrenaline with the much-anticipated Festival of the Windthe largest kiteboarding event in Latin America. Over 400 athletes, both professionals and amateurs, from more than 10 countries came together to compete and celebrate their passion for wind, sea, and the exhilarating freedom of this dynamic sport.
A Festival That Elevates Sport and Destination
Organized by the Government of the State of Nayarit in collaboration with Sabino Producciones and various local partners, the event not only boosted the world of extreme sports but also spotlighted Nayarit as a world-class tourism destinationwhere ecotourism, adventure, and culture come together in spectacular fashion.
The festival took place on the stretch of beach between Bucerías and La Cruz de Huanacaxtlean area renowned for its ideal natural conditions: steady winds, warm waters, and wide-open spaces that make it perfect for safe, high-performance kiteboarding. For three days, this tropical paradise pulsed with energy as hundreds of kites filled the sky, captivating locals, tourists, and national and international media alike.
The competition featured multiple categories that challenged riders' creativity, stamina, and precision. Highlights included:
