Giant Kite Festival in Puerto Vallarta by Greenpeace

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the skies over Puerto Vallarta will come alive with color, creativity, and a powerful environmental message during the Giant Kite Festival hosted by Greenpeace Mexico.

From 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Playa del Holi (next to La Isla Shopping Village), massive kites shaped like turtles, whales, rays, and other marine creatures will soar over the bay—each one a symbol of the rich ocean life we must protect.

A Message That Soars

More than a beautiful display, this festival is part of Greenpeace's global campaign to raise awareness about ocean conservation. The kites serve as visual reminders of the threats facing our seas—pollution, overfishing, and biodiversity loss—and call on communities to act.

The event is family-friendly, artistic, educational, and completely free—a perfect afternoon for kids and adults alike to enjoy, reflect, and reconnect with nature through play and purpose.

Why It Matters to Punta Mita

As a coastal community deeply connected to the ocean, here in Punta Mita we understand the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. Events like this go beyond borders—they remind us that the health of Bahía de Banderas affects us all.

If you're in the area, we highly recommend making the short trip to Puerto Vallarta for this uplifting and meaningful event. Let's fly high for the oceans—together.
