Ecos de Mictlan 2026: An Open-Water Swimming Experience in Bucerias

On November 28, Bucerías, Nayarit, will host Ecos de Mictlán, an open-water swimming competition bringing together swimmers, triathletes, clubs, teams, and independent athletes from different parts of Mexico.

With different distances and age categories, the event invites participants to put their preparation, endurance, and determination to the test in the open water.

More than simply reaching the finish line, Ecos de Mictlán offers an experience that brings together sport, challenge, and the feeling of facing something that pushes you to give a little more of yourself.

Between the Sea and Concentration

Open-water swimming demands much more than endurance. For some, it will be an opportunity to take part in their first open-water competition. For others, it will be a new goal within their training. And for those who already know the sport well, it will be a chance to challenge themselves once again in the open water and enjoy the course.

In every case, the connection between mind and body is important for maintaining your breathing and keeping the right pace and distance throughout each kilometer. It is a test of control, rhythm, and consistency.

Ecos de Mictlán is a competition where the sea and the body become one, awakening the warrior spirit within each participant, and giving meaning to all the preparation that brought them to the starting line.
