From October 22-25, 2026, Punta Mita welcomes the inaugural Senior Mexico Amateur Open, bringing together 120 accomplished amateur golfers from Mexico, the United States, and Canada for a championship that celebrates the sport and its growing community.
The tournament takes place at the PacÃfico Golf Course at Punta Mita Golf Club, designed by legendary golf architect Jack Nicklaus. Set along the Pacific coast, the course offers a memorable playing experience, with sweeping ocean views and a spectacular natural setting that makes every round distinctive.
Organized as part of the Federación Mexicana de Golfâs centennial celebrations, this first edition marks an important milestone for senior amateur golf in Mexico. Players aged 50 and older, each with a handicap index below 5.0, will compete over 54 holes of stroke play across three days.
The arrival of this inaugural championship adds to Punta Mitaâs growing golf legacy and reinforces Riviera Nayaritâs position as a premier golf destination, where outstanding courses and the beauty of Mexicoâs Pacific coast come together to create an exceptional experience for players and their families.
