Mexican Revolution in Punta de Mita!

This Saturday, November 20th Mexico celebrated the Centennial Anniversary of its Revolution. On this date, in the year 1910 the revolutionary war to overthrow the dictator Porfirio Diaz began.

At the plaza in Emiliano Zapata (where PEACE is located) the local residents had a parade to celebrate. From the school children to the women from the group "3er Edad" they  were dressed up as Mexican revolutionaries including from our own local "pueblo" Emiliano Zapata along with Francisco Madero, Venustiano Carranza to the "adelitas" women who came to be an archetype of a woman warrior in Mexico during the Mexican revolution. Afterwards, there was a celebration with sports events: "futbol"/aka "soccer", volleyball and basketball and of course, lots of great food and local color.
